This without a doubt our main hobby.  Sean introduced me to it when we started going out and now we are both firmly hooked.

We currently have the following equipment:

  • 2 X Canon 300D cameras
  • 2 X Canon 28 - 105 mm USM lenses
  • 2 X Canon 72 - 300 USM lenses
  • 1 X Canon 50mm lens
  • 1 X Kenko Macro Extension tubes
  • 1 X Manfrotto Monopod
  • 1 X Manfrotto Tripod

We've both have done two courses, a beginners and an advanced photography course.  This was immensely informative and advantageous because it teaches one the mathematics of taking a good photograph.  They also give you the principles of good composition.  We did the courses at the National College of Photography in Pretoria.  They now have an office in Johannesburg as well.

Taking an unforgettable picture takes more than just knowing the science of it, you need an eye for striking composition.  And you need to invest some emotion.  See the links for some  photographers who got this right.

Have a look at the Gallery for some of our photos. The one here are mostly mine, follow the Lazymanjoe link to see some of Sean's photos.
